Halacha:
I once attended a lecture by a popular local rabbi. The crowd was half secular, half religious. He started his talk by saying he wasn't going to touch on any halacha because to teach someone halacha who won't follow it is to cause them to sin knowingly, instead of unknowingly, which is a sin in itself. So he restricted his lecture to theological matters.
A percentage of the visitors to this site are not religious. Posting "that's assur!" everytime someone posts about an activity, as far as I'm concerned, is causing someone who may not know better to sin knowingly instead of unknowingly. This is why I delete posts that say "that's assur! stop doing that!" Because according to what I was taught by a well respected rabbi, that's a sin itself.
On the other hand, there are people who visit this site who are religious, and want to improve themselves, and if they see people posting about an activity that is assur and nobody says anything, they may get the idea it's acceptable. This is why I've never deleted a post that says "You should consult a rabbi about that, it may be a problem." This way, the person who doesn't care doesn't know for sure its a sin and the people who do care can find out from a trusted source instead of some random anonymous stranger on the Internet.
Medical Advice:
We don't give medical advice. Period. People who are medical professionals (doctors, nurses, therapists, whatever) WHO SEND ME THEIR CREDENTIALS, can post INFORMATION - not advice. Here's an example of the difference:
GOOD: A head cold is usually characterized by congestion, coughing and sneezing. You should see your doctor because s/he can help you with the symptoms.
Also good: I had those symptoms when I quit nursing; I found frozen cabbage leaves in my bra helped and you should call your doctor because s/he can help too.
BAD: I'm a doctor. You have Poster's Diseases. You should take two pills/drugs/whatever and post in the morning.
If this still isn't clear, or if it still seems like the mods are deleting arbitrarily, please send me a polite email and I'll try to make it clearer.
