Advice on getting a wedding ring?

Well, I've never done this before, and wanted to here any advice people here have about getting a wedding ring - including where to get a nice one relatively cheaply, what you thoughts are on the difference between white gold and platinum, and anything else I should know, but probably don't :-)

Just try to find a small one. Diamond perhaps you can find cheap ones that are very beautiful! Just try to be ideal with the wedding ring unless you can afford to buy rings which costs a thousand. I think i might know where to find one.

I assume that you are asking about the ENGAGEMENT ring; according to halacha the WEDDING ring should be a plain unmarked band of gold. (Speak to a knowledgeable Rabbi for more specifics.) The latter will probably be the least expensive piece of jewelry that you will ever buy your wife.

I chose a store with a good reputation on fair pricing and sent my DW to pick one and have them hold it for me and I came in 2 days later to pay and pick it up. That way she got what she wanted without feeling any pressure. The wedding band is not a big expense, and she will be wearing it for the rest of her life, don't stick her with something she doesn't want.
