Thank You Note Tips

Tips for getting those Thank You Notes Done

1. Convince your fiance or husband to help you. This might involve bribery, threatening, negotiation, some combination of the three, or none of the above, depending on your beloved's attention span.

2. Keep good records of who gave you what and when. . Note on the card the precise gift right away so in case it gets separated from the gift before you enter it, you have the record "backed up," in addition to any other hand-written, typed up lists you might generate. Trust me, you won't remember if you try to do it later.

3. Plan when you will sit down to write them well in advance. Mark the date, or dates, if you plan to do them in batches, on your calendar. If you do plan to do them in batches, set a minimum number of notes that have to be done during each session and stick to it.

4. Estimate how many envelopes you have to send out and make sure you have sufficient stamps. If you run out of stamps, finish however many you were planning to do that day anyway and buy the stamps later.

5. Get comfy. Have your stamps, multiple pens, envelopes, notes, your lists, etc. all set out on a clean table. Turn on some music, or the television. Keep a bowl of snacks nearby too.

6. Create a ranking or some sort of priority table so you know which to write first. Who is most likely to be miffed if they don’t get a thank you note? ( Most likely your grandparents’ friends) Who won’t care at all if it takes over a year? (Most likely your friends). Leave the ones who won’t care until the end.
